11. Hybrids Spatial Design

Based on the method developed in Manufactured Ground, the pocket space and sand dunes can be manipulated to reclaim a desirable space for urban development. The natural shape of sand dune and its in-between space is developed by firstly cutting the trees of the agro-forestry in previous phase, and secondly subdivision of plots based on the sandy topography. The informal housings on sand dune are to be further grow to house the peoples managing the forestry and construct the urban space. Then, the semi-formal and formal urban typology are to be built on these subdivided but irregular shape of plots by parametric tools so that the building block is distorted to suit the shape of the plot as well as providing wind corridor to minimize the obstruction to the natural process of the shifting sand across while human activities are housed inside these landform buildings forming a new micro district.
